If any of you plan to be in or around Winston-Salem, NC in the middle of June come on by the Ribfest at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. Its a growing festival, with competition teams from all over the US.
For the first time this year, they are offering an amateur division called "King of the Grill". Its a really nice setup. Costs $10 and they give you 4 racks of ribs to smoke to be judged. There are prizes associated with it as well. As of right now, there are only 3 teams signed up to compete, which doesnt meet the quota. If you live in the southeast, it would be a great chance to hang out with other smokers.
