My rock solid MES 440-S is now 80 degrees lower than the display. Anyway to fix this?

I used two different temperature gauges to confirm. Plus my pork barely got grease from the heat.

I know I have seen other threads on mods for other MB models.

Anyway to fix this for those who had the same issue?

I have not taken anything apart. It's ~2 years old.

Thanks!

I would start by making sure the temp senor inside the smoker is clean .
The limit switch looks like a round " button " , the temp sensor will just be a nub .
Both on the back wall .

Some pictures of the inside of your MES would help.
Any foil pans or foil sheets on any racks?
What were you smoking & how much at once?
Where do put your Temp Gages??? Pics of such??
How much is your top vent opened?

You are right again Bear! Too much foil. My mistake. Back to being rock solid, temp wise. Thanks.
