Good with poultry for a bit so I'm going to do some babybacks Sunday while watching the Pats lose and I'm kinda burnt out on standard bbq sauce.

Thinking maybe something mustard based.Have a few different mustards in the pantry,a variety of hot sauces, the never-ending jar of scorpion pepper dust.I'm thinking maybe starting with honey mustard and going from there,I just don't want to over power the ribs as I'm going to go with Kinder's Thai BBQ rub on the ribs.Thinking of whatever I come up with and use as a sauce after the fact instead of slathering the whole rack towards the end of the cook like I usually do.

What have you guys come up with when it comes to mustard based?

I have several store bought in the pantry ( mustard ) , but when I want to jazz something up I'll start with SB Ray's and add brown sugar , yellow mustard , Red wine vinegar and red pepper flakes . The SBR's is the least of the ingredients , just gives me something to start with .

I'm a big fan of the South Carolina style. Easy enough to make in small batches, but there are a few store boughts that aren't bad, SBR included. Mustard, vinegar, something sweet.. honey or brown sugar and maybe a little herb in the back ground.

I have a lot of stuff in cupboard and pantry closet to experiment with!

Not a fan of tomato based bbq sauces. I mostly use Carolina mustard based sauces, mostly store bought. Dukes (same company as Dukes mayo) makes a really good Carolina Gold BBQ sauce, and though it's seasonal, The Carolina Gold sauce from Aldi's is really good.

TulsaJeff TulsaJeff also has a mustard based "Golden Driller" sauce for sale, but has not, as of yet, added the recipe to his other rubs and sauce recipes you can buy.

I am with RG above and on the Soflaquer mustard bandwagon. It is the best mustard based sauce I have ever used home made, store bought and restaurant.

Carolina Mustard based sauce is amazing, I use Susie Bulloch's (Hey Grill, Hey) and add a pepper blend to bring the heat up a bit.
Here is a link to her recipe:

I use Stubb's Moppin sauce on chicken & ribs. I have added mustard to it (as well as other things) on a few occasions. It's good stuff.
Just snagged a bottle for $3.99 :)

I'm a big mustard sauce guy. Fixin to whip up a batch of something in this category as well.

Going with this, made locally. Didn't have enough time to go homemade.

Mustard? My grandma would make you go outside and cut your own switch.

JK. Lille's is really good stuff. This tangy, mustard-based sauce is a true South Carolina barbeque sauce. It’s a perfect match for chicken or pork. I love their red sauces as well.
