Moms day rib roast, Morel au jus w/qview

    i did a prime rib this past sunday, used some of curleys prime rib rub they sent me as a sample.

    *
    onto smoker, 225-240 degrees, used some red oak for this one.

    *
    took it up to 130-135 deg, here it is ready to wrap and rest...

    *

    *
    some morels i found in the yard....

    *
    butter, diced onion, and the halved morels.

    *
    when onions are tender and the shrooms have cooked down, added some of the drippings from the roast.

    *
    sliced the roast...

    *
    and served with the morel au jus. was great, the morels outdid themselves!!!

    and just for the heck of it, here was leftovers i got to enjoy earlier this week! prime rib sammies, provelone cheese, with morels on top on toasted buns.

    Nice..Prime rib one of my favorites... never had prime with morels but ive had morels on many other steaks. I can only imagine how delicious that was.

    You are KILLING me here this morning with this Qview. All I got to eat for breakfast was a granola bar and I have to look at those pics. [​IMG]

    All I can say is..... gimmie a bib, and pass some prime rib!!!

    Wow E -- that is one amazing prime rib! Perfectly cooked to me. Plus morels...PLUS delicious looking sammies....you done good sir!

    WOW is really the only way to describe our meal for your mother. Now I have done a few prime ribs in the smoker and they are one of the best cuts of meat out there. But those morels are simply to die for. Then you say that you found them in your yard. Dang it I guess there has to be drawbacks to living in the sunshine state of Fla. Great Dinner and hi there Mom.

    Try living in the city. Morels in the yard? Heck man, we have bugs on the ground. I wonder if they smoke well? Good job on the Prime E. [​IMG]

    Are you frickin kidding me? That looks unbelievable!! the roast looks just perfect and to top it off some fresh morels then to really top it off you put it on bread and made a sandwich OMG! Unfortunately the morels are gone here in southern oregon for the year and I only managed to get a small bag of them from a friend. I will have to wait until next spring. Nice looking meal and you are making me very hungary!!

    Prime rib is absolutely my favourite piece of beef, but never mind that.

    I have to add another WOW! You nailed it, perfect looking prime rib. With the Morels its just over the top. I can almost taste it.
