Hi all,

Name is Brian, been a lurker for a while.  Was reading Michigan Sportsman and this site was highly recommended by Spanky over there so I decided to give it a go.  I have a 30" MES and a Brinkman kettle I use for smoking, doing mostly ribs, fish and pork.  This will be my first go today at a Brisket and I hope it turns out OK, going to have it for Thanksgiving.  Decided to make it a day early just in case I screw it up, can always fall back on the turkey.  Want to also try chicken and Turkey in the smoker, it's just I hate ruining food.  I have a lot of learning to do here and hope sometime in the future I can help someone like I have been helped by this site.

First off Welcome Brian to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
