MES electric with pellets

I just received my message electric smoker 30 inch. The book says never use pellets. Can I? Does anyone use pellets?

You need an amnps

You don't use pellets in the MES chip tube unless you want a fire. AMNPS or what I use AMNTS

take a picture of inside of your smoker,cause there are different generations and you can see what size amnps you need

Thanks for the replies. I found an older post about the same thing. The words explosive and fire got my attention. I am going with a mailbox mod and eliminate all doubt. Thanks for the help.

I have an mes 30 .. works great with an amnps .. you must be looking at a propane model .. lol here is a pic of mine ..

on the left side of the heating element is the amnps I put in ... light it and will burn for whatever you are going to smoke .. in my opinion, beats a mailbox mod ....

The above smoker appears to be a 20070910 . It is the old stand by plain Jane no frills smoker. I have one just like it. Great little smoker If yours looks like this one call Todd at AmazN products and he will hook you up with a AMNPS tray and some great pellets. Jted
