Continuing breaking in the blackstone and did smash burgers again tonight. These were a bit on the mega side, with each patty being about 1/4 lb - so 1/2 lb smash burgers. My pants have been a little loose anyway.

First time they were good but a little too greasy for my taste, so I focused on a less greasy burger this time around.

Did the bacon first, then patted it dry and put it on a rack to keep it off the griddle, but still above it to keep warm. Next was onions and mushrooms, and again on the rack above the griddle when done. Finally the burgers and buns, and put them on the rack for about a minute or so after to let some of the excess grease drip off. Also made an effort to get way more of the grease pushed up into the trap between ingredients.

Major success, these were much better than Wednesday, and those were still pretty darn good.

Bacon already done, mushrooms and onions:

And now the burgers:

And the money shot. Two patties with swiss, bacon between the patties, onions both ways (raw & sauteed), mushrooms, lettuce, and ketchup.

Awesome looking burgers! All my favorite toppings! Great pics. Congrats on a carousel ride...
Thank you! Much appreciated. Been a while since I took a ride 😎

that'll fix them britches.
🤣🤣🤣 yeah unfortunately it will!

Congrats on the ride, well deserved. I like the cooling rack idea for the finished bacon. Need to do that!
My wife is getting to buy some new baking equipment because I keep stealing things for the smoker and griddle!

Now I am hungry with no delicious burgers at my place. I am jealous
One solution to that…

Looks great and huge !!!

Good looking burger for sure.

Now that's a full meal deal!
Great job!
