Long time lurker, first time caller

Hi, my name is Dave, and my wife bought me an electric ECB for our anniversary in August. I found this site right away and have been lurking reading about mods for my smoker.

In October, I made my first attempt at smoking. Started with a brisket (brave, huh?) and it turned out okay, but it cooked too fast so it never got very tender.

BTW< I get a lot of question about my username--Rooriders. Nothing naughty, but we have a hybrid camper, called a Rockwood Roo. Thus, our family became "Rooriders." (Great story, Dave. You should tell it at parties.)

We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.
