Nothing hard just take a regular baking tater and rub the outside with butter or bacon grease then rub with salt and pepper cover, bake on 400 In the dutch oven for 30 min then and turn the taters over cook for another 30 and they will be done. The skin will be crisp and flavorful and the inside will be good and soft. Top with what you like and eat vigorously.

Grease them up with bacon grease, roll them in Kosher salt and place in a dutch oven. Put a few coals on bottom and load the top up with coals. When they get soft, eat them.

VERY similar to what I do.
I use EVOO, and for spices I use 2 parts Salt, 1 Part Pepper, 1 Part Garlic Powder.

You're right. PERFECT Taters.

Once done, Take a sharp knife and on the top of the tater where you want to open it, cut from one long end to the other, a zig zag cut like sharks teeth fitting together, then put both thumbs at one long end and your pointers on the other end and squeeze towards the middle.
Comes open and looks real nice. Easy touch.
