Hello all, another newb here. Just posting to say hi. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, and read alot of good info here. I've got two smokers. one is a homemade upright that someone gave me about 8 years ago. Its very crude, but has served me well. Last year I bought a "professional Chargriller" with side fire box, and man do I love it. Look forward to learning some new things from you guys (gender not withstanding).
Brined my first turkey last week, and it was great. I kept the fire at 175 and expected a six hour cook, but bird reached 160 in about 4 hours. Was this faster cooking time because of the brining?
