Guys & gals I broke down & bought me a vac sealer to save more on food & to preserve my foods.

Is there a dang reason why these bags don't vac & seal.

Out of the 12 1quart bags I used ONLY 3 of them actually vacuumed down & sealed.

Is there something I'm missing or are these just junk bags. They need a ABORT button on a vac sealer!🤣😂🤣

Thanks any & all help will be greatly appreciated 👏

I bought those seal a meal bags a long time ago. I remember they were junk. Retuned them and got the more expensive food saver bags and my problems went away. Now you can get quality bags online for a great price, just have to buy in bulk to save.

Lisa b is a sponsor here for vacuumsealerunlimited. There might be a discount code to.

If the sealing surface has any liquid from when you sucked the bag down, or stuff on the sealing area that got there when you filled the bag, they won't seal right. You need a clean inside surface for them to seal correctly.

I've had certain items that require a seal redue. If I notice that whatever I'm sealing takes longer than normal. I'll kill the seal and restart. The second attempt usually works. I normally buy the Foodsaver bags, but have also used the Walmart generic bags. This problem is not related to the type of bags, but to the item I'm trying to seal.

I mainly use bulk boxes I get from Amazon ...... both quart and gallon size (I use my vac sealer a lot so bulk rolls are the way to go). They all seal without fail as long as the sealing surface is clean.

I'm with Doug and Chris. I had issues when I got my bag sucker and found that either the bag was not clean or not in the proper spot on the sealer. I use the same bags as you and double seal both ends.
Congrats on the purchase and I'm sure you'll enjoy it and the leftovers!

I had a roll once ,food saver brand, that the side seam from factory was the fault. Tried everything possible , even just tried sealing a spoon inside so knew the seal wasn't wet or mucked up. Process of elimination, I went all the way around putting new seal on the bottom and sides and finally found the issue. Called food saver and told them about it and said I would mail the rest of the roll back to them for proof, said not necessity and mailed me a double box. It can happen.

I strictly use rolls and have never had that experience. Good to know that FS backs their product. If it ever does happen.

Yeah that is what is frustrating. These are not the best bags, but dang they were still expensive for what they are.

Bet I don't buy them again.

Yeah that vac sealer is brand new & with these bags. It like the machine don't even work. They don't even try to vac down.

They are thicker bags than I have worked with before.

Lmao by the 3rd bag & it not sealing. I had to ask myself WTH I'm doing wrong?

I'm convinced these are more Walmart junk.

Thanks. Everyone!

Dumb question, but are you sure the open end of the bag is actually in the vacuum area and not in front of it? After the bag is inserted, the lid is lowered and locked down before starting the vacuum?

I’m not familiar with seal a meal bags but i think they were specifically for their machines. Dunno if that makes a difference here or not. One other thing is that one side of the Bag needs to be textured and the other side smooth. The textured side is what allows the air to be pulled out of the bag. If both sides of the bag are smooth they won’t vacuum out the air.

Just throwing some things out there since you can’t get any bag to vacuum down.

I don't recall ever having the factory side seams fail either. I also strictly use bulk rolls. Both more economical than buying pre-made bags, and I can custom tailor the size of the bag to what I need to put in it without waste.

I buy the foodsaver bags on amazon. but beware the quart bags come in two prices...the cheap ones are from korea or something and they are the worst! if you try them, get the more expensive pack when looking at cost per bag. theres no saving when they dont seal

Tried to buy from Lisa, but not paying $26 freight for an envelope of bags.
@17cents ea. a. I tell mama to use as many as she needs. we typically only suck ground burger or sausge or wings. we use the inkbird vac sealer.

Wevac bulk rolls. They also have a box with both 8 and 11 inch rolls. I have never had the first problem with these sealing so long as there is no liquid or other contaminants on the sealing surface.
