Peculiar, MO
I will be judging the Peculiar BBQ Round-Up this coming Saturday.
Looks like an all dayer, be there by 10:30 AM, turn-ins start at noon, awards at 3 PM.
The cookers are allowed to sell samples and plates of their Q. Be interesting to check them out after judging. I figure if I learn one new thing from them it will be worth the time.
I really wanted to get my neighbor to cook with me as a team (Peculiar Smoke BBQ Team) (It's the herbs)

but he is on call, works for the railroad. Maybe next year.

Be fair.. No extra points for the scantily clad babe that delivers the food...

(I'm still laughing about the "Buffet Line" comment)

Have fun! Sounds like a tough job, but someone has got to do it.

Lol.....ya'll are too funny!! Have a great time Mike. Can't wait to hear all about it. Buzz is it's suppose to be a great event with some really good teams.

I heard that!
I AM dropping by the Hillsdale Bank BBQ in Hillsdale, KS today for a warmup.
Gotta go over there and pick up a tractor I bought, and, since I'm in the neighborhood, might as well have some good Q!
The place is in a tiny, really old, brick bank building that was expanded by placing a Burlington Northern caboose against the south wall and cutting a doorway. The place is heated in winter by a huge old wood stove in the center of the bank portion that gets so hot it jumps up and down. Pretty neat and fine Q to boot. Only open Fri, Sat, Sun.
I was over there Tuesday when I bought the tractor and then went 6 miles north to Spring Hill, KS and had a killer chopped pork and sausage sammie with beans & slaw at K&M BBQ in Spring Hill. So fine!
Where ever you go around here there is good Q!
Just "getting in shape" for the judging tomorrow.
