I hit the jackpot this weekend! I have an aquaintance who owns a tree trimming service. Last week he cut down and saved for me 1 apple tree and 1 pecan tree. It took 2 loads to get it all to my house.I should be set for a year or two.
Awesome! Quick question though, might belong in it's own thread.....
What do people use to cut trees up that they're going to use for smoking? Chainsaw? That would get bar oil all over the wood. I wouldn't think using wood that has bar oil on it would be good. Any thoughts?
Ive never had a problem with bar oil on the wood I use. After letting the wood cure for a few monthes, the oil usually has dried up and gone. But unless your saw is oiling WAY too much bar oil should not be a problem
