I know this may see kinda odd for some, but I was wondering if any of you in the KC area or anyone that would be traveling to the KC area for a Competition would like to have an extra set of hands around the smoker?
I've been BBQing now for about 5 years. Got a bunch of Briskets, Butts, Loins, a Prime Rib, and a handful of burgers, wings, and some form the "others" category, under my belt. I enjoy BBQ and BBQing and have toyed around with the idea of competing and possibly catering later on down the road. But for now, I'm just trying to soak up as much information in regards to BBQing as I can.
So, if any teams in the area, or are going to be in this area, are looking for a "helper" or "volunteer" to help at some of the Comps or Caterings around the KC area, I would be honored to be able to provide my services. Let me know, I look forward to leaning as much as I can about his "hobby" and would love to stand over some of your shoulders to watch and learn. Maybe even get to go to a few Competitions and really see, up close and personal, what goes on.
