Its that time again - Chili seeds just gone in

Well a little late really - I was hoping to get them sown in mid January but life kept getting in the way!

220 chili seeds sown - 10 of each type. A good mixture gone in this year. The usual Poblano (Ancho), Jalepeno, Hungarian Hot Wax, Mole, various Scotch Bonnet and Habaneros. Some more NewMex varieties this year and some multi-coloured ornamental ones too. Of course, some Bhut Jolokia and Carolina Reaper just for fun - well they are not much good for cooking with.

I grew a few Chilli's from seed last year, had well over 100 chilli's on each plant, so I have enough until this years crop.

Did you know that a Chilli plant can live for many years, I put two to sleep and only one has woken, but hopefully it will give me a good head start.

Where do you get your Scotch Bonnet seeds from? I am in TX and I can't find them here for the life of me, so growing them on my own seems to be my only option.

We have online specialist seed companies here in the UK where you can buy almost any variety. Do yo not have them in the USA?

A Hawaiian chili plant will live for over ten years and produce thousands of chills a year! The seeds are so prolific that if you don't pick them all you'll have ten or twenty plants in a small area.

I recently bought two plants from a local nursery and one of the plants had some peppers drop into the pot. By the time I put them in the ground that plant had the original plant and four keikis starting to grow as well.

I've got a couple of chilies I grow every year. Last year, with the drought in CA, the chipmunks chewed rings around the stems for the moisture and killed the plants before they produced any fruit. So once again, I started 2 Bhut Jolokia's and 2 Scorpion Butch T's in pots on my deck. I'll take more precautions to protect them, but living in the boonies, the local denizens are a part of life.

I can't use them for anything I cook around here, they're just too hot for my gf to eat. I plan on infusing them into my chocolates again, since they are a customer favorite.

Nah...I found the image online and sent it to a friend that has 3 pugs that run his life.

Where I live(Santa Cruz mountains), small dogs become food for the larger bobcats and mountain lions if they are allowed outside without supervision. In lieu of a dog, I have a wild Swift Fox that visits nightly. She gets some of the scraps from my bbq and smoking experiments. When I first saw her couple of years ago, she was hiding in the shadows and I tossed her a piece of tri tip. Since then, she sits a foot or two away while I bbq, waiting patiently for any extras.

I started off with Seventeen very healthy looking seedlings and I'm already down to twelve, so I'm getting slightly worried.

Everything was going splendid until a week ago, then I noticed some of the leaves starting to turn brown and curl at the tips.  Unfortunately they did become rather sodden after a sudden downpour and they have been spending the evenings in my shed, but I have taken them indoors now for the night as maybe it's still a bit cold for them in the shed.

My plants have Six Seven and Eight leaves, Is that promising or not looking so good?
