Can I put this in a pork loin and leave it in DURING cooking?

Sorry for the dumb question, but I am cooking at work in an oven and don't want to dry out a perfectly good pork loin.

Thank you in advance for you input.

NO no no no NO... The type of thermometer in the pic is an instant read type. They are not designed to be left in the oven, smoker etc. There are others designed to do just that, but that ain't one of them.

You may want to look into one similar to this one

That type of probe is used for getting a quick temp. its not designed to be put in an oven and left for a long period. it's a calibratedable thermometer as well and i would not trust it holding temp in that kind of situation.

What he said my friend. I have that exact model of Polder, and it has been working for 5 yrs. without a glitch, same probe cable too.
