is that time of the year for comfort meals like chili & chix & dumps so i made some chix & dumps. here's my recipe. 4 chix leg 1/4s boiled & stripped(watch the bones) 4 tbsp fiesta fajita spice 4 cloves(not bulbs) smoked garlic mashed 1/4 cup smoked onion (i use yellows) 1 stalk celery finely chopped or diced 4 cups bisquick 1 cup milk. bring chix & veggies to a boil for a couple hours then simmer for a couple more(until the water is yellow w/ oil pools) strip & shred the chix adding back to the broth bring back to a boil adding in thumb sized globs of the dumpling dough. drop down to a simmer & stir once for 15-20 mins down to low for an hour let sit covered for @ least 3 hrs(to get the chix flavor into the dumplings) this is an extra- ladle into a bowl of skin on mashed garlic taters. even better the next day enjoy.
