I am going to be smoking for about 20 people and was not sure how much I should plan on buying. I wanted to do brisket and pulled pork. The pulled pork I am going to get the butt with the bone in and really have no idea how much to buy. I was thinking of 2-10 lb briskets but have no clue about how many lbs of pork butt to get. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I also posted this in the beef forum so sorry for the double post just wasn't sure which one to put it in. thanks

I have found that a 7-8 pound bone in butt will make about 18-20 pulled pork sandwiches.

Hope this helps!

Take care, have fun, and do good!

I did 2, 8# butts for 10 people and we had plenty of leftovers (thankfully for me

) everyone had two sammiches and there were others sides to eat also.

I guess it depends alot on what else you are making. I would think if you were doing the brisket also one butt would be fine. Make dutch's "wicked baked beans" if you already haven't, you will not be dissapointed.

Always plan for leftovers

thanks guys. Do you have a link to the bean recipe or a link? My wife actually suggested making beans.

Thank you. Just sent it to the wife and it is a go for the birthday party. Looking forward to them!!

You cannot go wrong with Dutch's baked beans... the family loves them, so I do them quite often. If you have trimmings left from spare ribs (or whatever), smoke them up ahead of time and add that (shredded or chunked) to the mix. Awesome!

Also, I have been using pineapple slices, reserving 3 slices and chunking up the rest. Add the chunks to the mix, then add the 3 slices with a cherry in the middle on top of the whole thing for "presentation"... Looks cool and the kids go nuts fighting over the cherries!
