Never too cold. I have a cold weather cover-its like a fitted welding blanket. Just burns more fuel the colder it is.
I just found one online for my MB GS. I was wondering if they are worth it?Never too cold. I have a cold weather cover-its like a fitted welding blanket. Just burns more fuel the colder it is.
Camp Chef makes a fancy custom winter blanket for my SG24. There are also aftermarket ones out there on Amazon for mine but I cheaped out on a welding blanket from Harbor Freight. Doesn't look as pretty but gets the job done for less $$$$$.I just found one online for my MB GS. I was wondering if they are worth it?
I would say yes. Rec Teq stopped selling them, no clue why. Rumor I heard was they said "it wasnt needed" maybe not needed, but will save a punch on pellets. I notice a significant pellet consumption difference with vs without cover when cold.I just found one online for my MB GS. I was wondering if they are worth it?
I agree. My SG24 will hold temps fine no matter how cold it gets, but I burn a lot less fuel with the blanket on in cold weather.Rumor I heard was they said "it wasnt needed" maybe not needed, but will save a punch on pellets.
Thanks, I saw a fitted one for around $70 bucks, but wasn't sure if they were good or not. Might just go with the welding blanket & cut it to size.I would say yes. I just fold it so it fits, giving me several layers of insulation. Thanks, I saw a fitted one for around $70 bucks, but wasn't sure if they were good or not. Might just go with the welding blanket & cut it to size.
If you cut the welding blanket to size. Make sure to have the sides sewn with binder edging. Thanks, I saw a fitted one for around $70 bucks, but wasn't sure if they were good or not. Might just go with the welding blanket & cut it to size.
Just leaving it whole and folding to fit is a better way.If you cut the welding blanket to size. Make sure to have the sides sewn with binder edging.
If not it will feel like you rolled around in fiberglass insulation.
Yes I agree 100%Just leaving it whole and folding to fit is a better way.
I would definitely stich it up if I cut it. I appreciate the heads up though. If you cut the welding blanket to size. Make sure to have the sides sewn with binder edging.
