If you have never been to a race it is worth doing so. I was not a race fan a few years ago when I went for the first time. The atmosphere is incredible, the people are varied, the site of cars coming by at 200mph is incredible. It is worth doing even if you are not a fan. This will be the third year I go and the first year I go as a fan.
Originally I went just so I could have a vacation with dad. Now I actually look forward to the race as well.
We end up meeting up with some of his college buddies in naples have a cook out and then drive to south beach sat morning.
Spend sat on the strip watching college football in various sports bars and then go out for a nice dinner sat night. Sunday we are off to the race early where we spend the day tailgating and then the race. Very likely we will go out to eat sunday night as well. Monday we head home. Its a great weekend. I look forward to leaving. 4 more hours of work then out the door I go!
Have a great time Vlap... I'll look for ya' in the stands!
I used to go to Dover every year. Thanks to DuPont, I had pit passes... got in as a photographer. What a total blast that was! But alas, all good things must come to an end, including my employment with DuPont.
I have friends that go to the races in Ft. Worth. They go down on Wednesday and camp out .....Watch the race on Sunday and then go home on Monday. They say it's a blast!!
Someday......maybe I'll check it out.
Oh yea, I'll watch for the guy with the white bread smoked brisket sandwich in one hand and a beer in the other. Gotcha...
Keywesmoker. Jackets are already packed. It got cold there last year as well and I was forced to buy a jacket at the race. I was starting to shiver and spill my beer!!!
Have a great time Vlap!!! Should be a good race. It's the last time I get to root for JR #8. Just can't bring myself to root for him next year. Come on ..... green, I don't think so.
Yup, it should be a good race... when was the last time two team mates had 1st and 2nd place in the points locked down and were only 86 points apart? WOOHOO!
