    i went to the store to get the stuff to make your finishing sauce. they didn't have any red pepper flakes. will ground red pepper work? it is coarse ground.

    As a pepper nut, I would say yes, but use 1/2 of what the recipe calls for.

    ahh, thanks for that info. i would have put a whole teaspoon in it.

    Hey Chris, I ran into a similar problem with Jeff's Finishing Sauce. I only had 1/2 cup of cider vinager. With all the bad weather I didn't want to go to town.... wife said we had some red wine vinager. So I'm using a 1/2 cup of each. I've never made it before so I can't compare it to anything. I know it smells good!! :)

    Doing my first Boston Butt!!! Mmmmm it's at 195 right now. 5 more degrees!! :)

    I would use the whole teaspoon, It really does not make the meat that hot besides I love hot food and this would make it even better
