My husband loves his smoker. But I have noticed the food has been tasting like the propane. I can not say anything about it if I do he will be crushed. Please tell me what I can do for this not to happen? He has a vault smoker. If you have any question please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Honesty is the best policy... A man cannot improve his food if he doesn't know the faults. I find it hard to believe he cant taste what you are tasting unless he has burned his taste buds off.

I have heard the old "I taste the propane" stuff for years with grilling conversations, when in reality, I taste people's starter fluid with charcoal far more than anyone's propane grill. Tasting either means the cook doesn't know what they are doing.

I do most of the cooking here too and I'm the most critical of my own food! I will express some disappointment in a meal and my wife is like, "I think its fantastic!". The good news is she WILL also tell me if something is "off".
