My husband Dale and I are so happy we bought our Masterbuilt smoker!

We reside in Downingtown, PA which is 1hr northwest of Philadelphia.

I'm planning on smoking 4 lbs of Chicken Drumsticks today (if it stops raining) and looking for some suggestions on cooking temp, recipes etc.

Looking forward to learning from "you all"

Welcome to the board, K&D! Use the Search to look up your smoker and see how people use them. Chicken is a good way to start, and learn the quirks of your smoker.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a rainy day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Sprinkle the drummies with your favorite rub and cook them at 325° until they are done.

Another thing, you can fire off small batches to taste different woods like hickory, mesquite, apple, etc. Maybe you'll settle on some blend.

Thanks for your suggestion! I actually basted them with a little olive oil and then put the rub on. Smoked them at 250 for 1 1/2 and they were delicious!

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.

Hey Kathy and Dale! Welcome! We have a nice group here that you'll be apt to learn a lot from. I'm from Royersford and work down in Malvern. We have a small group on here from the SE, PA and just across the bridge too. I've been smoking for awhile but also just bought a Masterbuilt from QVC.

Welcome to SMF! :welcome:
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
Thanks for joining,
- Ryan

Good Morning!

Thanks for your response and glad to know there are some local "smokies"!

We just bought our Masterbuilt from QVC in February and so far we are very impressed.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone and enjoying shared recipes.

Take care,

Kathy and Dale

Thanks Gary!

Hope you weren't in the path of the tornado yesterday; saw pictures this morning on the news and my heart goes out everyone.
