Hey all,

I have decided to join up :) I have been reading for months now but just figured I join this great community!

5 years ago I was lucky enough to get bitten by the BBQ. I have used propane smokers mostly, but I'm now looking to grow a bit and thinking about building my own ( I do know its very time consuming, need a side project though). I've been looking for a place to get used tanks but Craig's list and eBay have been a bust.

After a few weeks of looking I stumble upon these guys... http://www.blttanks.com/salvage-tanks

prices seem beyond reasonable but was just wondering if anyone has dealt with them before?

It would be a road trip lol, but it might be worth it!

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you!

-Matt

Local Alter scrap yard, here in Quincy, used to get scrap tanks from local tank mfr. Don't know if they still do but might be worth a call. Depending where u r in IA might be less of a road trip, if the still do.
