Howdy yall! My name is Matt and I am 26 years old and live in S FL. I was lurking here for a few weeks getting ready for my first time smoking a pork shoulder. Well i finally smoked it and it came out GREAT!!! So i wanted to become a part of the community and contribute what I can. Figured I would start here in the roll call. Well I like to surf and fish alot. The latter is what actually made me get a smoker. We catch a ton of Kingfish aka King Mackeral where I live and I have grown up on smoked kingfish so I figured it was time to start doing that myself. I will make sure to post in the Fish thread since I didnt see much in there in regards to smoking kingfish or amberjack, which are 2 very popular fish to smoke here. Well thanks to everyone who has posted here before cause it definitely helped me out. Now to post my first thread in the Pork section and show you my finished product! ETA: I am a novice smoker but learning very quickly. I use a CharBroil American smoker. Im not sure if that is the exact name, but I think it is. Its the model just under the silver, which i wish i woulda got, but they had these ones on sale at the local walmart for under 90 bucks so I couldnt pass it up. I am actually surprised at how well i have been able to control the temps so far. Ok now to post my pics of my first shoulder. Come over to the pork forum and check em out!!
