Hello all From MN

Hey everyone,

I am new to this forum but not new to smoking or grilling. I live in Kasson, MN just outside of Rochester. I have a Smoke Hollow electric which is on its last leg and a MES 30 with the window on is way to replace the ailing SH. I have done some cooking with chips on my Weber at home and my Magma at the marina. Our favorites would be ribs and jerky made from tenderized steaks. Oh and Chickens and Turkeys. We have 4 smokers within 5 houses on either side of the street in our neighborhood. It has become normal to pull down our street and smell someone smoking something..

Welcome to the forum Jared!  I'm a former resident to your east (Rochester) before moving to the island over a year ago. Cold weather issues with the smokers are no longer an issue with me!  Lots to learn from the knowledge pool here...and it's a deep pool so cruise around the forum, ask questions and don't forget to keep that camera handy as we all like to see what you're talking about and smoking!

First off welcome to SMF there Jared. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Thanks for all the kind welcomes everyone. I have been looking around the site and reading lots of the threads. I have even ordered my own Amazen smoker already. I am not telling my neighbors about this site right away. They are gonna have to figure out where I am getting my recipes on their own.  Does anyone know of an Android app that I can use to upload pics directly to a thread on here? A camera is never that far but it sure is faster using your phone.

Welcome to SMF!  Nice to see another North Country smoker!!  I went to college in Bemidji, so I have a lot of buddies in (or from) your area!  I too would love to see an android app for this page!  Never fails that the camera's battery is dead when I go to take a pic of some smokey goodness!
