This is the second time this has happened...I have to be doing something wrong..

After about 3-1/2 to 4 hrs into my smoke, my smoker just seems to lose it's heat...no matter what I seem to do. I have a Char Griller side box smoker... I can keep the temp right at 225° for the 3+ hrs then it just drops...

Any suggestions?
Thanks

If you are using the stock coal grate in the position suggested in the manual, the ash is accumulating enough under the grate to starve the fire for air. One solution is to flip it over so there's more space under the grate. Another is to build a charcoal box.

Check through the charcoal section of the forum for plans and other mods.

Hope this helps!

Take care, have fun, and do good!
