I have a medium BGE. It is the best for making steaks,oven type cooking and grilling. I have made some awesome chow with it.
As far as a smoker I have not had much luck with it. Can't seem to hold a low temp and its' a chore to add coals or smoking chips/chunks with something on the grill.
That's why I bought the MES. Set and forget.
