Howdy,  My name's Earl and I live in Omaha, Ne but my heart is in Georgia.

I just discovered the web site and when I did, I felt like I had found a pot of gold.  I'm kinda new to smoking and can't wait to learn all I can from everyone here.  I did my first 2 briskets yesterday and they came out amazing.  I was really surprised cause I have never smoked beef before.  Glad to finally be part of a forum that will actually have helpful info instead of a bunch of guys arguing about crap that doesn't matter.

Don't be mistaken... we argue about crap that doesn't matter sometimes too. But.. it's all in good fun. I would say it's the most helpful bunch of people I've ever been around. The knowledge here is amazing! A pot of gold is a good way to put it.

Oh... and we have a saying... "If there are no pictures.. it never happened". We love to see that q-view!

First off Welcome Earl to SMF.  You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
