Hey guys, Georgia boy checkin in here! My name is Lee, I live in Covington, Ga.......bout 20 miles southeast of Atlanta. I've had a little experience on smokers. I started out using a Brinkmann Gourmet Electric Smoker for a couple years, but got tired of that cause I could never adjust the temp. I upgraded a couple summers ago to a Char broil offset charcoal smoker, and I love it! The only problem is it isn't big enough now! I want a bigger offset smoker, one that may be an option to use at a competition, w/o spending an arm and a leg, any suggestions?

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything   ......... Look on Craig's list or on line I know a few members have picked up smokers at pretty good deals.

Welcome aboard Lee!  You'll find there are lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.  I'm with Gary...if you want a competition quality offset that doesn't break your bank account, your best bet is being patient and looking for a used one.  Craigslist, Ebay, etc...some of the better offsets are Yoder, Lang, Klose, Horizon, etc...but they're all pretty pricey if you buy them new.
