Good evening to all, glad to have finally joined this outstanding forum. I've been smoking with an electric smoker for the past year, and finally bought myself the Char Grill Smoker with side smoke box. Seasoned her and smoked my first batch of ribs over the last two days and have to say I'm much happier with the finished product that this beaut turned out. I'll be leavin home here in southwest Virginia next week on my annual pilgrimage to Lowe's Motorspeedway for Memorial day weekend and have undertaken the enormous task of feeding a dozen men for the weekend with some smoked ribs, pork butt, and brisket. Any idea on how much lump charcoal I should pack to pull this off? I'm figuring based on estimated cook times that the smoker will be cooking from Thursday - Saturday non-stop.
Lookin forward to swappin stories and advice in the future. If any of ya'll live in the Salem, VA area and are lookin for a fishin partner this summer give me a shout. If any of ya'll are gonna be campin at the Red Barn next weekend look for the smoke and the redhead!!
Thanks in advance for the advice!!
