Got tired of that AutoStop feature. It turns engine off when stopped. When its 105 degrees out I want my AC blowing! I have used FORScan before to turn off horn from sounding when using auto start and went pretty good. I am using an old HP laptop that is slower than molasses. I mean painfully slow. 10 minutes just to boot up. I only use it for this. I guess I need to do a factory reset on this thing. First thing my license was expired on FORScan. Finally figured how to get another one but I used desktop to get it and should of used laptop. Kind of weird how they do it. Finally got it up and running. Autostop was easy to disable. Wanted to turn my auto locks off and that turned out to be a challenge but got it. Nothing seems to match the online stuff. Also wanted to turn seat belt chime off for when I just driving on the river but gave up on that one. Two and half hours later I done! FORScan is pretty cool. Can change a thousand things in the programming on your auto. Can use an OBD program to see errors and clear them as well as see a ton of information.

On my Subaru I have the option to manually disable it with the push of a button on the dashboard, but if I'm using the AC or heater then it automatically disables itself. Another trick is to use a gentler-lighter pressure when applying the brakes. You'll still come to a complete stop, but your not using enough pressure to activate the auto-off.

What year Subie? we have a 16, 18 and 19 in the family none have it. Yet my wife's 2016 benz has it.

2023 Forester, it will also tell me how much gas I've saved.

Listen close , has to be done correctly .
Get in the truck . Make sure all seatbelts are disconnected
Close the door
Turn the key to acc position
Wait for the chime to stop , AND the warning light to go off ( looks like a guy in a seatbelt )
Takes about a minute for the light to go out .
When the light goes out connect and disconnect the seat belt 3 times .
The light should come back on
Connect and disconnect one more time and it should flash
Done .

My auto stop has the button on the dash . If it's off it's off . Doesn't reset after turning the truck off and back on . It's supposed to , but mine doesn't for some reason .
I bought this truck used and have suspected that it has a low level tune on it . That's one sign that it does I've been told .

I can't remember for what, but that's similar to the procedure I had to do once in my old Jeep Grand Cherokee to turn something off. It was a real pain especially if you didn't do it correctly.

I thought I saw somewhere that there is a fuse that you can pull to shut off the autostop. Fortunately I still drive my 2016 which doesn't have it. One of the reasons I haven't upgraded.

Cool Thanks again. What started me on this FORScan journey was the remote start engine beeped the horn a few times. Not a good thing if its 3 am and wake your neighbors up!

chopsaw chopsaw , 2019 Ford Limited, may have to try that. Is it doable for passenger seat do you know? Driving around back roads while hunting, or A-B ice fishing, chimes all the time with rider. Have hooked belt behind our backs but PITA

Just sit in that seat and do the same thing . Hardest thing is waiting for the light to go out . Takes a minute or so after the chime stops . Follow that as listed , and it should work . Might take a couple tries . I would think it's not year specific . I did it to my'05 and it's still off .

I did it that way in my first 2018 F150
Used Forscan in the one I have now.

You may have the little ASS (auto-stop-start) delete thing that attaches up by the battery.

Right . I've heard that that one can cause other issues because that connection controls other things .
They make the one that goes in the loom at the back of the switch in the dash . That way it only affects the auto stop feature .

Now that I think about it I thought I saw a place in my dash controls ( software ) that it could be disabled .

It's in the dash, but the damn thing resets every time you stop the truck. Same as the physical button on the facing up over the screen. I prefer the BMS disabled (which is what that little doo-hickey AND Forscan actually affect). My factory AGM is still kicking at almost 800 CCA - and as an H6 I think it was only rated new for 750ish. BMS lets the alternator in a Ford charge the battery to only about 85% (tops) - and I'm still scratching my head on what doofus decided that lead acid batteries only like to be charged to 80-85%. Pretty common for an F150 to eat an H6 or an H7 every 3-4 years charging like that.
