First smoke on my new Masterbuilt electric Cookmaster. Worked fantastic. Love it compared to trying to smoke on my charcoal grill. Set it and forget it! The chip holder lasts about 2hrs filled up on this at 250 so perfect for this smoke. Used apple and alder chips. Brined both of these in pretty standard solution for 40hrs or so, added some local organic garlic cloves (smashed) to the brine. Rub was a this-and-that rub - brown sugar, dried onion, garlic powder, smoked paprika chili powder, pink salt, black pepper, cumin and cinnamon. Gave the chicken and turkey a quick coat with blood orange olive oil then rubbed them down. Didn't have time to grab a pic of the finished product before serving - had to get out fishing! The wife and kids really liked them, with no real preference for chicken over the turkey although the turkey was a bit overdone. Normally they aren't big on smoked food. The turkey leftovers made a great sandwich meant! Here's them rubbed and halfway through:
