Heirloom piece! Don't you dare scratch up that surface! Use a planisan cutting board on top of it, lol! Great job, wish I could get hardwood here in the south locally, it all has to be ordered in and very expensive. Super craftsmanship too, did you dowel the top? What size planer do you have?
 
The pieces are all bisketed together (over 160). I had access to a 48 inch thinckness planer. And Idustrial 48" sander. After that was an orbital sander from 220grit down to 1000. Once smooth I used pure mineral oil. After a week of oiling I am going to seal it with bees wax
 
LOL I have a smaller cutting board in the works. Gonna match that one. Top was bisketed. And total out of pocket was $105 canadian.
 
As a fellow wood worker you did a fabulous job. A very useful table.
