Really wanted the rec tec, 340 but I felt I needed more room esp for hosting holidays. The GMG DB didnt do much for me for the price and I really didnt need wi fi. Its a gift for the wifey, and I knew she woulnt use that feature.

What really sold me was the features of the camp chef smoke pro DLX. The pot clean out sure is handy. Nice basic read out and heat settings. Features vs price just seemed to fit for a first timer.

Best part, the local Depot' matched another retailers price, and saved 100$

Nice, I think that's a good choice. I found that the pot cleanout was not all that useful. Very little ash collects in the pot, and by the time enough collects to really need dumping, you need to pull out the drip pan and cleanout the bottom of the barrel anyway. Now that they have PID controllers, I think they are a great value.
