We finally had a weekend day free to stay home to do our first smoke...
ABTs of three different peppers, one fatty, a rack of drumsticks, and some country-style ribs...

Brined the chicken overnight, and the drumstick rack is a wonderful thing! Thanks to whoever posted about that... found it at our Lowes, as well as the Oregon Scientific thermometer, and love both. The rack only fits in at an angle in our GOSM, but we made do.

Used a basic rub on the ribs, man, what a treat... we did more of a 3-1.5-0 method with these, but have 3 slabs of spareribs in the freezer. Looking forward to making up another rub for these.

Just a naked fatty, it was slated for a date with pancakes this morning... yum! Can see doing these in advance to take to family gatherings and camping trips. Only had room for one on this smoke, looks like we need to buy another rack for the GOSM.

We're a fan of all kinds of peppers, so we used jalapenos, anaheim and one other pepper (sorta like a large banana pepper) for our ABT initiation... yummy!

Sorry I didn't get pics, we were also brewing a 5 gallon batch of porter at the same time... next time for sure!

Sounds like you had a great fiirst smoke. I was slow with pics when I started, when you are watching the smoker, smelling the food and seeing the results, sometimes cameras just don't fit in the mix. Enjoy and play with the fatties and abts, the filling posibilities are endless, just use you imagination for fillings and stuffings.
