Electric Smokers

I have a Lil Chief that I have had for years and love it. I am looking to get a smoker for my brother but don't want to spend a lot, where can I get the best deal and what are the best brands out there? I have had my LC for many years so I don't know what's what anymore. He won't be doing a lot of smoking, maybe some cheese or fish, nothing too constant or big.

I have heard that the Little Chiefs were kind of hard to maintain temp. on. What would be the next step up?

What Richtee said. Also, I was just thinking, I'm now sure what "a lot of money" is but you might consider the ECB or if it's not too much, the Weber Smoky Mountain (WSM). Now there's a smoker that he can grow up with.

I have to go with the Brinkman gourmet electric. $50 and up depending. Almost idiot proof (I have only screwed up a couple of times)

I don't know the cost of any of the other electrics out there, but I think that the brinkman is as about as cheep as it comes. It is almost as close to set it and forget it as they come without any of the frills.

The little cheifs are great with a few easy mods............The ecb's are good to for the price.......I seen a neat charcoal smoker at HD by brinkmann for like 59 bucks, its nice square vertical............
