Dyna-Glo vertical smoker mods

I just ordered my Duma-glo and this is my first smoker. I've read tons on them and found people are having issues with losing smoke out of the door and fire box door. Some are using high temp silicon and son are using nomex tape. So I am prepared which is better to use? I think I'm more comfortable with nomex but I wanted your thoughts. Thanks

The tape is easier to put on. If you're careful in applying it, it will last a long time. MAKE SURE THE CONTACT AREA IS CLEAN.
