Drip pan underneath fatties to catch drippings for gravy?

Hi! Just wanted to know if I put a drip pan under my fatties, will the drippings be useful for gravy? More worried about killing the bugs than anything. Thanks, Daun

I never caught the drippings for gravy, I have however flavored many a pan of smoked baked beans with drippings!!!

If you placed the drippings in a sauce pan and boiled it up a bit I believe you would be ok. But let's stand by and see what some one more knowledgable than I will tell us
