I just bought an upright Brinkmann cheapo from Wal-mart. I forgot how much I loved grilling with charcoal over gas.

I'm interested in smoking chicken, and maybe a beef brisket. However, I'm a little puzzled how I don't end up grilling the meat outright with this thing.

Welcome. We don't refer to them as displaced. We call them Damn Yankees. LOL. Lots of people use the ECB's. You'll find plenty of support and wonderful people here. Oh, and don't forget the pictures, we love food porn.

Harold -

There are some of us Yankees that just don't acclimate as well up here as we do down south. For some reason I've always had a better fit (so to speak) down south.

.........Actually people who move to Texas may be truer than "born" Texans. I mean they came here on purpose to become a Texan and the others could be merely an accident of birth. This could get me kicked outta The Lone Star State.............Naw....
