I have been reading about all the different wood you all use in your smoking and so far all I can find is hickory, mesquite and just recently apple (these are all chips).  I did find once a bag of hickory chunks, never apple, alder or just plain oak.  What's a girl to do to get some of the smoke flavors I've seen on the board?  Come Marylanders!  Help me out.

You can always find anything you ever want online.  I found a good selection at my local Gander Mountain.  There is only one located in Maryland it looks like:

2410 N Salisbury Blvd
Salisbury, MD 21801
410-334-2677

They had Hickory, Mesquite, Apple, Cherry, Jack Daniels Oak, and Alder when I went in there a couple weeks back.

Check your grocery store or Wal-Mart. We have "Krogers" down here and they have chunks in Hickory, Apple, Mesquite, Oak and sometimes Cherry.

Check Home Depot and Lowes. Home depot started carrying cherry this year as well as hickory, mesquite and apple- all in chunks and chips. They also have bigger bags of hickory and mesquite (20lb).
