Did my wife accidentally buy an alligator tail?

Well my wife told me she got a pork loin she would like me to smoke that was in the freezer. When I pulled it out I thought maybe she bought a pack that had 2 in it. Nope, this thing was giant! I would love to have seen the porker this thing came off of. I just had to share because of the ridiculous size. I seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic and cavenders Greek seasoning and stuffed it with some sausages I made that had smoked Gouda cheese in them. It is delicious but could not get over how much it looked like alligator tail when I was cooking it. My grill is 36 inches long and this thing was spread out like a gator sunning himself on the bank of a river lol.

I rarely see those pork backstrap loins like that but I like them for cutting and making amazing grilled chops!

I only see those little half loins these days which seem like the ends of the big loins. I still grill em and they are good but not like those chops from the big loins like that.

That looks good enough to eat, nice char on the outside.

I sometimes put sausages in backstraps or loins, mmm, mmm good.
Some thick strips pf bell pepper and onion go good like that too.

Not sure I'm understanding the sausage addition? The casing keeps the flavors from mixing, no?

Now that looks pretty darned good...alligator tail or not Very creative with the sausage in the middle. Loving that idea.

Gives a really good bite in the middle but I have also done it with sausage not in a casing as well. Both are delicious.

That is awesome, it looks like one of those YouTube Epic Cooks; Turkey wrapped in bacon, stuffed with chicken, stuffed with game hen, stuffed with sausage . Very cool idea and it looks delicious! Great cook!

DBH, Nice job on the loin,crunchy on the outside and plenty moist on the inside. The sausage makes a nice flavor addition too!
