Costco pork bellies -- Skin On?

Love to find that price here... especially already skinned...

Back when Costco first introduced them here, I was picking them up for $1.99 lb. That was probably 10 years ago?

Went to Costco Business Center on OBT in Orlando.
Bellies all skin on. Forgot to check the price, but they were $3.49/ earlier this year.
I usually get my meat at the BC as it is a bit less $ than the standard stores and a pretty good selection.

If you are not a Costco member, have a friend pick up a couple of $5 gift cards for you. This will get you in the door, and as long as you pay the first $5 of your checkout with the card and the remainder with cash or an accepted credit card (no Amex), you can shop at Costco all day long as a non-Member.

It’s a known ‘cheat code’.

Spoke with the meat guys at my local Costco (Central NJ) and they said their pork bellies will always be skin on from now on.

I find the best way , for me, to skin bellies, is treat it like grinding meat......i.e. so get it cold just before freezing. Start separating the skin from the thick end just about 3 inches. Then hang the belly with a smoking hanger 4-6 hook. Leave room for the blade to get past the hooks. Hang it on something not too high for your shoulders (a bit below the chin to mid chest). This allows you to work at a more natural angle and gravity keeps the skin folding down and the slab from sliding around You can put a couple holes in the skin to slip a few fingers thru and add tension and keep from twisting. Just like skinning any animal tension on the skin makes it separate from the subcutaneous fat layer easier.

Just thought I'd that out there, although I'm pretty sure that they have a discount for members.

My Costco in Altamonte Springs,Fl has skin on and think it was still $3.99/# same price as I was paying with skin off last time I was able to get it that way from there

Got a lamb roast for $4.99 / thinking it was a good price. Well, went to our regular store yesterday and it was $3.99 /
