I hope the best for you Keith and the forecasts are wrong.
You gotta be F'n kid'n me... They have the next storm (Sarah) making a visit to Fl.
We just can't take another hit...
We're spending a week on Fort Myers Beach. FMB hasn't even recovered from the devastation after Ian. They are currently moving tons of sand after Helene and Milton and Ian from the streets, back lots, and parking lots back to the beaches. Many many empty lots where old Florida houses used to stand that Ian took out. 1/2 the west beach side resorts are still closed for renovation as state and county permits took a long time after Ian plus the 2 rounds this year. We're staying at a small gulf side resort that most of the units are 10 feet above ground level and that saved them from the surge. The few ground level units are filled with sand.
The erosion from the surge returning to the gulf is amazing.
Saturday, we head back to 4 corners (SW of Orlando) to sit out this next round. Our apartment building took a heavy hit from Milton. I think our insurance includes water damage. We're on the 4th floor but that far inland there is no surge except for the rain deluge.

I'm still working on things Milton tore up... Got the frame all fixed up and the new cover kit is here... When I bought this RV Storage close to 20 years ago it was 14'wx42'Lx15'h ... Well.. since then they have changed the size to 17'h and don't offer a new cover for the 15' anymore... I just did a total recover with one of the last 15'rs less than 5 years ago (first time since new)...

So I went ahead and bought the new 17' cover with the thinking of just going to a muffler shop and have some 2' riser/extension pipes made for the frame work... HAAA... Wouldn't you know it's not that easy.. Odd pipe sizes of the frame don't match up to anything at muffler shops (went to 3 shops) ...

17' end cap/door on the 15' frame... It's only supose to wrap around like the sides are...

I finally got to talk to somebody else at the place of purchase to explain my situation. He agreed to check with the warehouse to see what info he could come up with... He come back telling me the warehouse has plenty of spare sparts laying around and to tell him which part numbers I needed... After replying with the numbers he reply's with ... Parts will be of NO CHARGE and that I would have to pay the shipping (heavy freight)... The pipe that needs to be longer is now at 56"... The new one would have to be 80" long ... He said he doesn't know what the length is... Hopefully they are 80" so I can just replace... If not I will have to cut them 24" long and add another joint (weak points) in the frame...

I am more than happy to pay the freight for the parts.. I am so thankful for the help...

If anybody needs/wants portable shelters I strongly suggest Rhino Shelters

Read a article a day or 2 ago a electric company from Florida was waiting on permission to bill their customers billions due to storm damage, I would move before I payed it, that's on them to cover imo,
