We're spending a week on Fort Myers Beach. FMB hasn't even recovered from the devastation after Ian. They are currently moving tons of sand after Helene and Milton and Ian from the streets, back lots, and parking lots back to the beaches. Many many empty lots where old Florida houses used to stand that Ian took out. 1/2 the west beach side resorts are still closed for renovation as state and county permits took a long time after Ian plus the 2 rounds this year. We're staying at a small gulf side resort that most of the units are 10 feet above ground level and that saved them from the surge. The few ground level units are filled with sand. You gotta be F'n kid'n me... They have the next storm (Sarah) making a visit to Fl.
We just can't take another hit...
Read a article a day or 2 ago a electric company from Florida was waiting on permission to bill their customers billions due to storm damage, I would move before I payed it, that's on them to cover imo,
As long as it is 15' above the sand level. If I lived in Florida, I think I'd have to be in something like a turtle-shell house.
