I've been considering a chamber vac sealer for a while now Amazon has the Avid Armor USV20 for $324 and the Avid Armor USV32 for $569 (a little bigger chamber). I'm not in the market for an expensive $1000 vac sealer. I wondered if anybody has experience with these or recommends other lower-priced chamber sealers. What are your thoughts? The chamber bags are so much cheaper that they would almost pay for themselves, along with the benefit of being able to vac seal liquids.

I bought the WEVAC CV12 off Amazon in 2022 and have had no problems with it, love the fact that you can do liquids. Use it a lot this time of year for salsa and pasta sauce with veggies from the garden.

I just looked at it on Amazon it looks like a very nice unit. Thanks for your input.

I have the vevor dz 260 c. Which is on sale for 319 at Amazon. The seal bar is long enough to seal 2x6 inch bags at the same time. I'm a big fan of being able to crank out single serving bag sizes fast, I can put 2 bags of veggies or meat portions at the same time in the machine

Interesting it came up, my vac sealer started giving problems this weekend and thinking about a new one and a chamber may be a good upgrade

Have never really looked at one close up but would be concerned on the size of things that could be vac'd.
Example, ring sausage. I would suppose you have to make sure they are all under the 11" mark to fit inside ?
I know the bags are cheaper than standard sealer bags.

Yes that’s the only limitation of them but other wise they work great …

I picked up the AA USV20 last winter and so far have probably vacced 100 lb plus of various things. The bags are MUCH cheaper than the Foodsaver type textured bags and there's a huge variety to choose from. They add a year to the warranty just for you posting a review. For anything too large to fit in the chamber, you can vac externally which works pretty well. I've done ribs and pork butts this way.

I know you said you didn't want to invest $1k in a vaccum. But I picked up a Vacmaster VP230 in 2021 and have never had a single problem with it. At the time, VacMaster was a local company (Kanas City) that was made in the USA. Since I don't see a reference to this on their website, I would be sad to find out that is no longer the case. My only complaint to chamber vac's is the limited space. But the ability to perfectly seal liquid and using normal bags more than makes up for that limitation.

When you get one. Don't forget to geek out and do the obligatory chamber vac marshmallows and boil a bag of water at room temp. Major appeal of chamber vac is all that home made beef stock and Bolognese sauce I made is safely in the freezer. AKA liquids

Edit oh yeah. Flower and sugar and all kinds of stuff that can mess up a normal vac machine (I still put a piece of paper towel in those bags at the mouth of the bag just incase

I got this same model thru Home Depot for about the same price last year. They sell a lot of the Vevor brand but it's usually not in stock local. Delivery or store pick up only. Very happy with it so far!

You can actually use FoodSaver type textured bags with a chamber for really large items. Just feed the end of the bag into the chamber and over the seal bar. The food in the bag stays outside. I've done some pretty long fish fillets this way. You might waste a little more bag material but it works good. Downside is the heater settings seem to be a bit more finicky with the textured bags. It was easy to go from not sealing to too much melting. I haven't done enough to get it 100% dialed in yet. Especially if you're sealing multiple bags. Residual heat in the seal bar can change subsequent seals.

Unfortunately the vevor I have has the seal bar at the back of the chamber so it would use the extra bag material

Good to know, would be something to watch out for.

Seal bar is at the back but the hinges are spaced pretty far apart. There is the activation switch to contend with also, but it didn't interfere with sealing when I slid the bag in thru the back side.

I don't seal many items that won't fit into the chamber, so I don't mind eating the extra $0.50 in bag material when I need to do it.
