Anyone with the CG experience the SFB damper getting stuck? I did my first smoke (Q-View coming soon) and shortly after realized that the damper was stuck. It moved easily and freely before I put the fire to it. Tried lightly tapping it and the tab started to bend. I don't get it...is it too tight, does the heat do something to it? Any ideas...

yeah, mine sticks a little too. i loosened the round-headed nut that is spring loaded on top and this helped, it still sticks a little, but not enough to bend it. i found my magic spot for 220 and dont touch it too often. i know that when my cg was brand new it had a kind of sticky oil in some places, maybe a little oil rub? good luck. jack

Yeah maybe...I've loosened it since and it moves freely again. Guess I'll have to try it again and see if it helps.

The only time I have had mine stick is when a piece of charcoal or wood falls into the way of the damper. Otherwise mine is quite loose.

Mine got stuck the first time I fired it up. One good shot to the head of the bolt in the center of it freed it up. I hit it with my pliers. It's been fine since. Only thing I can think of is that the paint melted and made it stick,

Hope this helps!

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Regards,

Meowey

Yeah, mine stuck too. Adjust the nut and shoot in between the box and damper with PB Blaster (not while there's fire of course...

), spin it back and forth a few times. Loosens right up...
