You would think living in the state that produces 25% of the country's pork you would be able to find pork bellies anywhere. I have tried every packing plant, butcher shop, meat market in the damn part of my state with ZERO luck. What kind of places are you gents and ladies finding them?

  2. Probably your best bet is to become chummy with a butcher shop that butchers their own hogs and find out their butchering day and let it be known what you need. Buy their meat on a regular basis, they appreciate loyalty and often reward their customers [IMG]

Not only will you get bellies, your meat cuts overall will be better!

Sometimes if you go straight to the farmer they sometimes sell meat right off the farm. they should be able to hook you up with some

Well persistance pays off. I found a locker 45 minutes away that will have 2 in for me next thursday. I had to buy a case, luckily a case is only two 10-12 pounders. I cant wait! Now to do 2 twelves or 4 sixers? And what flavors to do?

Got them for $1.69 a pound skinless. I thought they would be cheaper. Heck every other week you can get chairmans reserve whole boneless pork loin for $1.69-$1.89 a pound. That price for the bellies was from a butcher shop too though.
