Hey Tykie, glad to see you back. Like the others said, check local welding shops or any fab shop. If you have a steel supplier in your area, ask them if they have any expanded metal defects. Most larger steel yards have bent or imperfect sheets to which you can get a smaller piece cut at a substantial savings. Good luck.

Home Depot has it. Most of the employees don't know it but they do. It is usually in the hardware section and they have asortments of angle iron, alum and sheet alum and metal. It is a small section but they do have it.
for $25 or so you can get a 12" x 48" section of 9 gauge 3/4 expanded metal dropped off to your door from yale steel, they sell lots of cut peices, I got 4 peices 7.25" x 24" shipped for $23
