With all the questions about grinders and which one to get I thought I would post this so people can see some of the options Cabelas grinders have and how they work. I started with the Burger press using bulk Italian sausage. I'm also using the optional foot pedal control which worked great, I could start and stop the grinder as needed and have use of both hands to do the more important jobs.

Here are the pics of the burger press in action.

The press hooked up and ready.

Sausage in the feed pan.

The first formed pattie in the press.

First pattie out of the press.

6 patties made in no time flat.

I'm starving so I threw a couple patties into the pan for dinner and to give y'all an idea of the actual size patties this press makes. They are close to a 1/2 pound each.

Being this was a test run with the new toy I only pulled out about 4 lbs of meat to do. Man was this thing quick. I was done in a couple minutes and cooking a couple for dinner while the rest went into the freezer. This will definately save me a lot of time and no more pulling out 5 lbs of meat and eating the same thing till it was gone before it spoiled. Now I can just peel off a burger or two as I want them....Ground beef burgers, turkey and mabe even smoked pork burgers...Mmmmmm, the skies the limit!!!!

Next post will be the Meat Tenderizer/Cuber....

This thing is awesome for tenderizing meat, and quick too!!!! I droped in the meat and out it came before I even realized it!!!! WOW!!!!!!

The Tenderizer/Cuber hooked up and ready to go.

The venison.

Puttin the meat in.

First cut, man it slides right threw and fast...

Second cut and it's done. Only took 3 to 5 seconds for both cuts.

These only took me about 3 minutes and that's cause I was checking out the cuts as they came through.

Look at the job this thing did. Beautifully cubed and ready for what ever.

And here is the what ever. In the zip bag with a Korean BBQ marinade for tomorrows lunch. My mouth is watering just thinking about how tender and good these will be....mmmmmmmmmmm

That's it for now. Both these attachments are well worth the money and seem to be very well made and easy to use. The foot pedal control was also a great help and time saver.

Hope this helped with any questions some might have had about the Cabelas grinder and some off the attachments...

Thanks for the Qview.

That is one sweeeeeet machine. I gotta head to that website and check this out
What size grinder did you get - Thanks for sharing

Definetly cool there one shot a good useful tools there.

Cool Options, how much did the tenderizer cost extra?

Very cool. Its fun having the right tools for the job. If anyone is interested, towards the end of next month, September, Cabelas is having a sale and I noticed that some of their meat processing equipment is on sale. Some items are really marked down. Check out their website if interested, Cabelas.com. We are looking at their heavy duty slicer so I can start making some smoked roast beef and slice it up and freeze it. I think I would save lots of cash over buying it prepackaged in the store. Thanks for the post.

I got the 1 hp grinder and it is fast. I think the 3/4 hp grinder will work with the attachments too, but check to make sure. Definately well worth the investment!!!!

The Burger Press should work with your grinder, it's universal and comes with 5 different head sizes.

They had it in the bargain cave (not used) for $79.99. It was at the Cabelas store in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. I'm sure you could get them to send it to you. They had 6 left as of yesterday. The new models are $199.99 but there is no difference except the skew number.

Meat, you will definately save a bunch of money with a slicer given the cost of sliced meat in the deli's. I've got 20 lbs of roast beef in the freezer right now and I just pull out what I need. At deli prices that's about $200.00 worth of meat that cost me about $60.00 to make....It is surprising how fast it adds up!!!! Not to mention mine tastes waaaaayyyyy better!!!!
