Just an FYI, but Food Lions here will have Boston butts on sale starting tomorrow for 99¢/lb. I've bought these before and usually they're Swift brand and run about 7-8 lbs. each...

I'm in Pinnacle, North Carolina about a half hour north of Winston-Salem. They're on sale here.

My only issue with them is that they are usually overly trimmed with very little if any fat cap so they are pretty lean for most sausage. But with that said, although I have 3-4 butts in the freezer I'll still put a few more away to make it worthwhile to make a big batch of sausage.

You still have Winn Dixie stores over there? The 3 or 4 around this area are all closed down being converted to Aldi's I was hoping they would leave at least one of them a Winn Dixie but they didn't

So far we do. Lord knows when they will switch these over. I just read an article that says some of them will NOT be converting over to Aldi .

Yep, that's why they run on the lighter side. But fortunately I have a source for fresh pork fat...
